The Institute for Cyber Security at the Media University Stuttgart was founded in 2019. It is dedicated to making IT security tangible and understandable for students, media and businesses.

The Institute for Cyber Security combines knowledge in communications, legal and technology to inform about the latest topics in IT security.

Experts from different domains, from academia as well as industry are working together in interdisciplinary projects to foster security awareness and to support students in building their careers in the field of cyber security. The activities include, but are not limited to:

• The development of Serious Games for Cyber Security Awareness and Education
• The research in communication of Cyber Security Awareness
• Hacking exercises in our controlled lab environment, holding competitions between red and blue teams
• The participation in Capture-the-Flag events
